Independent IT advisory

The person behind Galactus

Galactus is founded and run by Sven Van Roosenbroek, an IT leader with 17 years of senior experience across telecom, construction, infrastructure, and industrial groups. He has led international IT departments at executive committee level, run digital programs on major infrastructure projects, and managed multi-country IT mergers, earn- & carve-outs. Galactus exists to make that level of leadership available without the cost or permanence of a full-time hire. The work is hands-on and fully independent: interim mandates, board-level advisory, due diligence, and rescue assignments. No junior team running the engagement, no vendor behind the advice. Based in Boom, near Antwerp.

Why Galactus exists

I spent seventeen years running IT from the inside: leading international IT departments at executive committee level, carrying digital programs on major infrastructure projects, and managing the IT side of mergers, earn-outs, and carve-outs across countries. When a board asked me a hard question about IT, I could put evidence on the table, because living inside the systems, the contracts, and the teams was my full-time job.

Most organizations do not have that person. The reports exist, the consultants get paid, but when it matters, at a deal, after an incident, before a major investment, what the board holds is opinion formatted as a document. The gap between how IT feels and what the evidence shows is where value quietly leaks away, and where deals, budgets, and careers get decided on guesswork.

Galactus exists to close that gap. Every engagement runs on evidence: anchored scoring, claims that only count when demonstrated, red flags that cannot hide behind a good average. Advice a board can act on, from someone who has sat on their side of the table.

Evidence over opinion. That is the whole idea.

If you cannot defend the score, it is not a score. It is an opinion.

Why the model builds trustThe work is deliberately senior, independent, and close enough to operations to make decisions real.

Objective by default

Advice is separated from vendor incentives and anchored in what the organization can actually operate.

Executive context first

Technology choices are framed against leadership priorities, budget reality, ownership, and business risk.

Practical over theoretical

We do not stop at recommendations. We help shape governance, cadence, and teams that can carry the work forward.

Operating principles

Our Principles

These aren’t marketing buzzwords. They’re the non-negotiable standards that guide every engagement.

Evidence Over Opinion

A claim without proof does not move a score. We ask to see it: the restore test, the contract, the export. That is why our findings survive a board, an insurer, or a buyer's deal team.

Radical Independence

No vendor partnerships, no affiliate deals, no hidden agendas. Our advice serves one interest only: yours.

Results Over Reports

We measure success in outcomes, not deliverables. Strategy is worthless without execution. We execute.

Transformation, Not Maintenance

We don’t do status quo. Every engagement aims to leave your organization fundamentally stronger than we found it.

How We’re Different

We’re Not a Consulting Firm

Consulting firms sell hours and deliverables. We sell outcomes. No junior analysts running your engagement while a partner collects the fee. You get senior expertise, directly, from day one.

We’re Not a Vendor

We don’t sell products, licenses, or implementation services. Our recommendations are 100% independent. If we suggest a technology, it’s because it’s right for you, not because we have a reseller agreement.

We’re Not Temporary

Even in interim roles, our impact is permanent. We build systems, develop people, and create structures that outlast our engagement. The goal is always to make ourselves unnecessary.
