About the mandate
You join a large professional organisation in Brussels that supports offices with legal advice, software tools and services. You ensure the reliable day-to-day operation of the security solutions and contribute to projects that further strengthen these systems. The role combines operational responsibility with improvement projects. You work in a hybrid setup, with two mandatory office days per week and a maximum of three days working from home. The assignment runs until 31 December 2026, with an extension in 2027. You translate security requirements into practical solutions, give clear advice to colleagues at all levels and share your technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Analyse and define security requirements
- Configure, support and maintain security tools
- Manage identity components, user accounts and provisioning processes
- Set up and maintain access management components
- Monitor security systems and improve observability
- Protect systems against unauthorised access
- Develop security procedures and make policy recommendations
- Provide technical security advice, including on OAuth and OpenID Connect, and advise, raise awareness among and train employees on security procedures
Must-haves
- Experience as a Security Engineer, with a practical and solution-oriented approach
- Experience with SSDLC, RUP and Agile
- Good knowledge of authentication protocols and providers: OAuth, OpenID Connect, OpenLDAP and Active Directory
- Good knowledge of identity and access management, both concepts and solutions
- Knowledge of application firewalls and web services
- Practical scripting knowledge in Linux and/or Windows
- Fluent Dutch or French, with good knowledge of the other language
- Strong command of English
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with network security
- Knowledge of web services in Auth0
