Senior Project Manager Platform Engineering

About the mandate

For a large organisation in Brussels, you will act as a cross-functional project manager and lead the strategic projects and programmes that involve several Platform Engineering teams. These teams provide shared platforms and services, such as Community and Public Cloud, CI/CD and Software Factory, databases, middleware, observability and developer tools. You coordinate technical teams, service owners, architects and management, so that the initiatives are aligned, fit the team's priorities and show visible progress. You work on priority files: a common security roadmap for all platforms (secrets, access and privilege management, encryption, certificates, auditability), the move to the Public Cloud, the CI/CD programme, greater autonomy for the Business Units and the management of the portfolio of platform services. The assignment is full-time and hybrid. It can be extended in periods of three months, depending on needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex cross-functional projects involving several teams
• Coordinate the dependencies and contributions of the various stakeholders
• Monitor planning, risks, actions and decisions
• Prepare reports for management
• Help draw up and follow up roadmaps
• Facilitate communication between teams and with internal customers
• Steer a common security roadmap for the platforms from definition to execution
• Follow up the move to Public Cloud, the CI/CD programme and the portfolio of platform services, and align them with the team strategy

Must-haves

• Experience leading complex projects or cross-functional programmes
• Experience working with multidisciplinary technical teams
• Excellent skills in coordination, communication and stakeholder management
• General understanding of cloud, platforms, DevOps and infrastructure;
• Advanced in cloud architecture (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), CI/CD and build automation (including Jenkins), API Gateway, middleware and databases
• Advanced in identity, secrets and certificate management, Privileged Access Management, Vault, security best practices and security frameworks (CyFun, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls) with gap analyses
• Expert in Agile and PRINCE2; advanced in ITIL, portfolio and project management, SLAs and Jira; Expert in Confluence
• You can structure, prioritise and move forward several initiatives in parallel, and you work independently, with initiative and a results-driven approach
• Dutch-speaking or French-speaking with active knowledge of the other national language, and active knowledge of English
