About the mandate
You join a team that, together with another team, is responsible for a large organisation's membership management application. The application has become too complex and is being replaced by a new ecosystem of microservices. You critically review the requirements from business and IT and determine which functional requirements need to go into the new ecosystem. You work hybrid from Brussels: 4 days a week at home and 1 team day a week at the office. You analyse the current way of working, define an implementation strategy together with the tech leads and adjust it during execution. You get up to speed quickly in the business context, dare to question concepts and are able to convince colleagues and bring them along. Dutch and English are required. You must be available at short notice.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the development of the new microservices
- Analyse the current way of working with colleagues from business and IT
- Determine how work should be done in the future
- Work out a strategy for the implementation of the microservices together with the tech leads
- Adjust the strategy and support colleagues during the implementation
- Bring colleagues along in the approach
- Collect requests for new or modified functionality from stakeholders and translate them into clear, unambiguous epics
- Break down epics into refined stories that are ready for the team, and keep the documentation up to date
Must-haves
- Strong architectural insight and helicopter view
- Strong critical thinking: thoroughly validate requirements, question assumptions and keep asking until everything is clear
- Experience with breaking up legacy systems
- Experience with microservices
- Customer-focused attitude and a drive to find the simplest solution
- Decisive, strong communicator in an environment with multiple teams, and strong EQ
- Dutch and English
- Available at short notice
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of AWS
