SAP BW/BW4 Migration Analyst

About the mandate

You join the Data & Analytics team of a large organisation in Brussels and are responsible for analysing, optimising, migrating and supporting reporting solutions for various departments and staff services, such as Customer Services, Technics, HR, Finance, Strategy & Legal, Internal Audit and IT. In doing so, you combine the roles of Application Owner, Product Owner and Functional Analyst. You translate the existing reporting into a future-proof solution architecture using SAP BW/4HANA, Azure Synapse or Databricks, Datasphere and Power BI. You act as the central point of contact between business and IT, manage onshore and offshore developers and safeguard consistency with the architects. For this assignment, the client may ask for up to five days a week of presence in the office.

Responsibilities

• Map and document reporting and dashboard needs
• Analyse the current (AS IS) reporting and translate it into a future-proof solution architecture using SAP BW/4HANA, Azure Synapse or Databricks, Datasphere and Power BI
• Contribute to the migration planning and act as the central point of contact between business and IT
• Translate business needs into functional specifications
• Validate reports and dashboards from internal or external developers
• Manage a team of onshore and offshore developers during migration projects and contribute to the implementation yourself where necessary
• Coordinate with Enterprise, System and Solution Architects and safeguard the coherence of the architecture
• Draw up and run test scenarios, and carry out functional tests and data cleaning

Must-haves

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role (Application Owner, Functional Analyst, Project Manager or comparable)
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and with JIRA and Confluence
• Thorough knowledge of SAP BW, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Embedded Analytics, SAP Datasphere and Analysis for Office
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
• Relevant experience with migrations from SAP BW to SAP BW/4 or to Azure BI solutions
• Native Dutch or French, or at least level C, and the other language at least at B2 level
• English at B2 level
• Willing to be present in the office up to five days a week

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrable understanding of the Azure Enterprise BI architecture, including products and services
• Experience with stakeholder management, both horizontally and at management level
• Experience managing offshore resources and writing documentation
