SAP BW/BW4 Migration Analyst

About the mandate

Within the Data & Analytics team of a large organisation in Brussels, you work on reporting solutions for various departments and staff services, such as Customer Services, Technics, HR, Finance, Strategy & Legal, Internal Audit and IT. You analyse the existing reporting and translate it into a future-proof architecture with SAP BW/4HANA, Azure Synapse or Databricks, Datasphere and Power BI. You take on a coordinating role as Application Owner, Product Owner and Functional Analyst. You act as the central point of contact between business and IT, manage onshore and offshore developers during migration projects and contribute to the implementation yourself where needed. For this assignment, you are willing to be present at the office up to five days per week. The actual on-site presence will be communicated during the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document reporting and dashboard needs
• Analyse the current (AS IS) reporting and translate it into a future-proof solution architecture (SAP BW/4HANA, Azure Synapse/Databricks, Datasphere, Power BI)
• Contribute to the migration planning and act as SPOC between business and IT
• Translate business needs into functional specifications
• Validate reports and dashboards developed by internal or external developers
• Manage a team of onshore and offshore developers during migration projects and contribute to the implementation yourself
• Align with enterprise, system and solution architects and safeguard the coherence of the architecture
• Draw up and run test scenarios, carry out functional tests and perform data cleaning

Must-haves

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role (Application Owner, Functional Analyst, Project Manager or equivalent)
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• In-depth knowledge of SAP BW, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Embedded Analytics, SAP Datasphere and Analysis for Office
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
• Relevant experience with migrations from SAP BW to SAP BW/4 or to Azure BI solutions
• Understanding of the Azure Enterprise BI architecture, including products and services
• Native Dutch or French, or at least level C, with the other language at least B2
• English at least at B2 level

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with stakeholder management, both horizontal (other teams and departments) and vertical (management level)
• Experience managing offshore resources
• Demonstrable solution-delivery mindset and strong communication skills
• Experience in independently identifying and solving functional or technical problems in BI projects
