SAP BTP AI Core Specialist Engineer

About the mandate

For a large organisation in Anderlecht, you will look for applications where AI delivers measurable added value within SAP ERP (S/4HANA or ECC) as an SAP BTP AI Core Specialist Engineer. You act as the link between the business and the technical team: you analyse use cases in processes such as finance, purchasing, supply chain, sales and HR, translate them into a technical design and develop them. You develop AI and GenAI applications on SAP BTP, build and expose services and connect models to ERP data. You are also responsible for the rollout and follow-up of the solutions, with attention to privacy, authorisations and AI governance. You document, carry out proofs of concept and present results and business cases to IT management. The assignment runs for 12 months, with a preferred start date of 16 November 2026. Working from home is partly possible.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess AI use cases within ERP processes (finance, purchasing, supply chain, sales, HR) and translate them into technical designs
• Provide technical direction for and follow up on initiatives
• Develop AI and GenAI applications on SAP BTP with SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad, Generative AI Hub and Joule extensions
• Build and expose services via CAP (Node.js or Java) and integrate via SAP Integration Suite, Event Mesh and OData/REST APIs
• Connect models to ERP data via RAG patterns on SAP HANA Cloud Vector Engine, CDS views and similar
• Carry out MLOps: deployment, monitoring, prompt version control, and management of costs and token usage
• Safeguard data privacy, authorisations and requirements around AI governance and compliance
• Document solutions, carry out PoCs and present results and ROI cases to IT management

Must-haves

• Experience developing AI/GenAI applications on SAP BTP (SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad, Generative AI Hub)
• Experience with CAP in Node.js or Java
• Experience with integration via SAP Integration Suite, Event Mesh and OData/REST APIs
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA or ECC and the related business processes
• Experience with RAG patterns, SAP HANA Cloud Vector Engine and CDS views
• Experience with MLOps and AI governance
• Knowledge of Dutch and French

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Joule extensions
