Java Developer

About the mandate

You join an agile team within a large organisation in Brussels. The team combines the skills needed to deliver a product every sprint. As a developer, you contribute to analysis, design, development, testing and integration, and you also work with your colleagues outside your own specialism. The order of the work is determined by the Product Owner based on the added value for the internal or external customer. You work according to Scrum values and share knowledge, communicate openly and continuously look for improvement. You work 50% on site and 50% from home. English is required for meetings and documentation, French is spoken on the work floor and Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to delivering a product at the end of each sprint
• Complete the sprint backlog in the order determined by the Product Owner
• Analyse, design, develop, test and integrate software within the team
• Develop software with Java and Spring Boot in a microservices and cloud environment
• Share knowledge and work closely with team members
• Propose improvements in ways of working and market developments to increase delivery speed and operational quality

Must-haves

• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Strong Java knowledge with Spring Boot
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with microservices and cloud development
• Good understanding of architecture (hardware, OS, networks, databases, middleware)
• Knowledge of methods, standards, security procedures and development tools
• Knowledge of agile methodology
• Fluent English; practical knowledge of French is required on the work floor

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with integrating different technologies (distributed/mainframe) and infrastructure components
• Cloud development on IBM Cloud - DMZR
• Knowledge of KESMA
• Knowledge of Elastic Search
• Knowledge of Dutch
