IT Solution Lead

About the mandate

For a large European organisation in the energy sector, you act as IT Solution Lead and bridge business needs and technology. You are technically and functionally responsible for IT solutions that support the Grid Solutions activities, in particular around programme and project planning and resource management. You oversee the design, integration, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of both custom-built and off-the-shelf software (OTS). You work closely with Business Project Leaders, Solution Architects, developers, testers, external suppliers and business stakeholders, and you ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards. The assignment is an external consultancy assignment in Schaerbeek, with hybrid working in line with the client's policy. Non-EU candidates need a valid Belgian work and residence permit.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for assigned IT projects, from solution definition and implementation to rollout and operational support
• Analyse, challenge, validate and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
• Contribute to the solution architecture and monitor compliance with functional, non-functional and security requirements
• Coordinate internal technical and functional teams during project and operational phases
• Provide technical advice on technology choices, required resources and IT budget estimates
• Develop, deploy, maintain and support custom applications, mainly using Microsoft .NET
• Integrate, configure and customise off-the-shelf software, including fit-gap analyses, technical evaluations and RFI/RFP processes
• Manage external suppliers through SLAs and KPIs and contribute to incident and problem management and continuous improvement

Must-haves

• Bachelor's or master's degree in IT, computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of experience in technical leadership, IT solutions, application management or IT project implementation
• Strong knowledge of .NET/C#, Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server
• Understanding of cloud and integration technologies such as Azure, REST APIs, containerisation and cloud-native patterns
• Knowledge of software architecture, enterprise architecture standards, application security and IT service management
• Experience with requirements definition, fit-gap analysis and software selection
• Experience with supplier management, incident management and SLA/KPI monitoring, and knowledge of Agile
• Fluent English and fluent French or Dutch, spoken and written

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the electricity, energy or utility sector
• Experience with IT solutions for project planning, portfolio management or resource management
