IT Security Specialist

About the mandate

A large government organisation wants to raise its cybersecurity maturity and has launched several projects to do so. Part of this centres on the internal network and the data centre, including network segmentation and firewalling of web applications. As a specialist, you are responsible for the operational management, maintenance and optimisation of the network and security infrastructure. You ensure high availability, security and performance of networks and applications. The assignment runs from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027, for 1,760 hours, in Brussels with partial remote working.

Responsibilities

• Managing and monitoring the network and security architecture, with an emphasis on F5 load balancing and Fortinet firewalls
• Ensuring optimal availability and performance of business-critical systems and applications
• Contributing to the further development of the network architecture and the implementation of the security policy
• Supporting projects and changes relating to network improvement, segmentation and strengthening of security
• Advising on technical risks, security measures and structural improvements
• Coordinating with IT colleagues, suppliers and project teams for integrated service delivery

Must-haves

• Experience managing network and security infrastructure
• Knowledge of F5 load balancing
• Knowledge of Fortinet firewalls
• Experience with network segmentation and web application firewalling
