Full Stack Developer: Automation & Robotics

About the mandate

For an international manufacturing company in Flemish Brabant, we are looking for a Full Stack Developer who enjoys seeing technology at work in the real world. You will join a dynamic development team that builds a wide range of applications and systems. Some projects start completely from scratch. On other projects, you modernise existing applications without jeopardising the continuity of production and operations. Your work includes internal business applications, operational dashboards, production integrations and applications related to automation and robotics. AI also has a concrete place in the roadmap, for example for quality control, document processing, production optimisation and predictive maintenance. The technology stack consists of TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL and Azure. Python is used for specific AI, data and industrial integrations.

Responsibilities

• Developing frontend and backend functionality for modern business applications
• Building new applications for production, planning and process automation
• Modernising existing, business-critical applications
• Developing and maintaining APIs and system integrations
• Integrating software with machines, sensors, robots and production systems
• Building dashboards for operational and production-related data
• Contributing ideas on architecture, security, testing and maintainability
• Researching and implementing practical AI applications
• Writing clear, testable and reusable code
• Carrying out code reviews and sharing technical knowledge
• Working together with developers, engineers, automation specialists and end users

Must-haves

• At least four years of relevant experience as a software developer
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript
• Experience with React or a comparable modern frontend framework
• Backend experience with Node.js, NestJS or a comparable technology
• Experience with relational databases and API integrations
• Attention to testing, security and maintainable software architecture
• Willingness to work on both greenfield and brownfield projects
• Professional knowledge of Dutch and English

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Next.js
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with Azure, Docker and CI/CD
• Knowledge of Python for AI, data or automation applications
• Experience with MQTT, event-driven architecture or real-time data streams
• Experience in manufacturing, production automation or robotics
• Experience with AI APIs, machine learning or generative AI
• Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems or industrial integrations

What the employer offers

• You receive a gross annual salary between €60,000 and €75,000, depending on experience.
• On top of that, you receive the statutory holidays plus 12 ADV days (working time reduction days)
