About the mandate
For a large organisation with an extensive multi-cloud environment, you are an experienced FinOps Practitioner looking for more transparency, predictability and efficiency in IT spending. You manage, analyse and optimise cloud costs and ensure that FinOps principles are applied across the organisation. You work closely with Finance, IT, Engineering, Procurement, business stakeholders and senior management, and you coordinate organisation-wide FinOps initiatives. Willingness to work on site up to 5 days a week, depending on project needs, is required.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyse and optimise cloud usage and costs in multi-cloud environments
- Develop and implement FinOps strategies, processes and governance frameworks
- Achieve cost savings through rightsizing, autoscaling, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans and Spot Instances
- Define and enforce tagging standards, cost allocation and budget controls
- Prepare budgets and forecasts for Cloud, Data Centers, Licensing, AI and SaaS
- Implement showback and chargeback models for greater cost transparency and ownership
- Develop dashboards, KPIs and reports, and automate cost monitoring and anomaly detection
- Integrate FinOps into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code, and work with Procurement on contract negotiations
Must-haves
- At least 5 years of professional experience in FinOps
- FinOps Certified Practitioner and FinOps Certified FOCUS Analyst (FinOps Foundation)
- Hands-on experience with at least two hyperscalers, of which Microsoft Azure is mandatory
- Demonstrable experience with enterprise budgeting and forecasting for Cloud, Data Centers, Licensing, AI and SaaS
- Proven experience implementing showback or chargeback models
- Strong analytical skills and financial-technical insight
- Experience coordinating FinOps initiatives across teams and with stakeholder management at operational, tactical and strategic level
- English at least at C1 level, spoken and written
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud
- Experience with enterprise-wide FinOps governance
- Experience with automated reporting and financial compliance
- Experience coaching teams in implementing FinOps principles
- Experience with FinOps tools and the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS)
